Most wedding photographers will tell you how excited they are when they get to travel to a new destination for weddings and sessions. And I’m no exception. When I had the opportunity to go to California for a multi-part engagement session last month I was so excited! I was excited to photograph new locations and backdrops, cool vegetation, and palm trees! The only problem: the three day forecast for the area was rain, rain, rain. Cold rain. And to make it even worse, it was in the 70s and sunny back here in Minnesota.

But I have to say, I’m glad it rained. Because that caused us to create “Plan B”, which was to drive a few hours northeast to Palm Springs where the weather had a slightly better outlook. And Palm Springs is pretty much my dream city. It’s the home of Mid-Century modern architecture and has been on my bucket list of places to visit. So, after a quick search of the internet, we came up with an awesome list of places for photos. And to say we got lucky is an understatement. The Saguaro Hotel is pretty much a photographer’s dream. So, I will warn you, this might be the most colorful post I’ve ever done. And I love it! We had a few minutes here and there between rain storms and here’s what we got:
